Rare Books and Special Collections at UBC Library
The University of British Columbia hosts the largest collection of rare books and media on British Columbia history. Their digital collection include a large selection of images, letters, and other media from BC history.
City of Vancouver Website
The City of Vancouver’s main website directs visitors to current events happening within the city and gives an overview of all the aspects that make up the city’s culture and life. Government documents showing the city plans and goals are made public for all to see.
Translink Website
The Translink website provides information on existing transportation infrastructure, planning initiatives, as well as planned projects for the City of Vancouver and the Greater Vancouver Region.
Earth Hour City Challenge
The Earth Hour City Challenge initiative was created by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and it celebrates cities that are taking amazing steps towards a 100% renewable future. The program recognized Vancouver as an international champion in 2013 for its ambitious action plan to be the greenest city in the world by 2020 through sustainability programs covering carbon neutrality, energy and adaptation.
Metro Vancouver Convention and Vistors Bureau
A wealth of information on Vancouver covering different topics. They cover everything from weather to neighborhoods. A history of Vancouver dating back to the 1700s, done in a timeline style with very funny, witty commentary keeps things interesting.
